'Flavours of Asia'

A familiar sight across Asia is the humble street hawker. With his simple cart and trusted pan, local produce and regional spices all cooked to perfection and served with a friendly smile. Fresh, wholesome and accessible to all.

strEAT is an contemporary Asian casual dining concept born from the origins of street food culture. A theatre of food, cooked fresh and capturing a complete taste experience. Simply packaged and democratically priced to suit the needs of the urban downtown ‘Seoul foodie’ by day or by night.

 

The brand name combines ‘street’ and ‘eat’. The simplicity of the design language conveys directness of modern food values. The urban chic environment fuses simple and honest materials articulated in a contemporary way. Central to the concept is the theatre of an open kitchen, democratic seating, bespoke packaging and uniforms. A unique design for the takeaway bowl is reflected in iconic lighting features. 

 

The project included all aspects of the strEAT brand concept including the commercial and strategic positioning, marketing, format strategy and menu development. A full suite of brand material was created including name generation, identity, interior design, packaging, uniform, food photography and merchandise such as a collectable ‘Eat your Kimchi’ T-shirt. 

 

strEAT was the winner of a Red Dot design award.
